About the Dean
Bishop Stephen Anthony Ramos, Jr, Ph.DD
Bishop Ramos was born in Richmond, VA and graduated from Prince Edward County High School in Farmville VA. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1984-1988. It was the Marine Corps that taught him the importance of exhibiting a strong work ethic, hard work and respect for God and country. Bishop Ramos accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1998 and accepted the call to preach in September 1999.

Understanding the call to preach and having a passion to share the gospel he became the pastor of God’s Anointed Praise and Worship Ministries in Lake Arthur, Louisiana in 2000. He began his second church, God’s Anointed Praise and Worship Ministries, Lafayette, Louisiana in 2003. In 2006, he was consecrated as Bishop and received his first Episcopal appointment. Bishop Ramos moved to Richmond, VA in 2007 and became the pastor of God’s Anointed Praise and Worship Ministries, Crew VA. He moved the ministry in 2015 to Richmond, VA.
Because of his love for Outreach, he began God’s Anointed Outreach Ministries in 2017. Bishop Ramos has collaborated with several pastors in the Richmond/Henrico, VA area to reach out to those who are less fortunate. He can often be found cooking on the grill while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Bishop Ramos has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Life Studies, a Master of Arts Degree in Religious Studies, Doctor of Divinity, and Doctor of Religious Philosophy all from the African Methodist Episcopal School of Divinity. In 2022 he was selected as the Grand Chaplain for the Virginia Clergy Council. Bishop Ramos is a graduate from John Tyler Trucking School. In addition, Bishop Ramos serves as the Chaplain for the Richmond Police Department. He is married to Pastor Garlena Ramos, and they pastor New Grace Restoration Outreach Ministries in Portsmouth, VA. Bishop Ramos can be best described by Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.”
